Brown Guys, Grey Skies

Deepu Dileepan and Sundeep Bhardwaj

‘Brown Guys, Grey Skies’ is a stand-up comedy show that presents an outsider perspective to life in Europe. In 2018, ‘Brown Guys, Grey Skies’ had a sold-out run at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival and currently on tour across 12 countries in Europe.

Featuring Deepu Dileepan and Sundeep Bhardwaj – the show explores themes of love, adventure and truth. Part observational humor, part cathartic revelation, the two part stand-up show is presented through distinct, contrasting filters. That of a (i) a young millennial from India whose first encounter with snow was last weekend and (ii) a naturalized Luxembourgish man who used to shoplift electronics but has since wisened into a proper job in money laundering at a European bank. ‘Brown Guys, Grey Skies’ takes audiences through the true travails of an interracial marriage, a long-drawn battle with Polio, restroom puzzles at the workplace and the inherent joy of grey skies. The show zigzags through hilarious childhood stories from India and how it ricochets in present-day Europe. It also packs novel quips on Islamophobia in a post-Brexit world and Pope Francis’s platinum rap album, if he dropped one.
