The Climax Blues Band of today carries the same standard of quality as it did when the band formed back in the late 60s and achieved such great success and recognition through the 70s and 80s, huge selling albums like FM / Live and Gold Plated, the 1976 hit single Couldn’t Get It Right (from Gold Plated) and I Love.
You in 1981, the reputation carrying right through until the tragic death of founder member Colin Cooper in 2008.
Colin’s death could have meant the end of Climax Blues Band but his desire was for the band to continue creating the fine blues blend that the band has been associated with since its formation, and that desire has been accepted with relish by the remaining members of the band.
The Heritage Blues Company
„The Heritage Blues Company“ doit son existence à la „Bluesschoul» de Differdange, lancée en 2006. Marco Schwickerath (basse) et Mario Jung (guitare) s‘y rencontrent et projettent de créer un nouveau groupe de blues. Ils contactent quelques autres élèves de l‘école et la jeune formation monte pour la première fois sur scène au Blues Express de Differdange, le 8 juillet 2006. Après avoir connu plusieurs évolutions, Marco et Mario sont aujourd‘hui entourés de Chantal Gottschalk (chant), de Christian Ries (stage piano) et de Rob Schauls (batterie). Moyennant un répertoire solide et varié, composé de standards revisités et d‘explorations funky, jazzy et boogie… «the Heritage Blues Company» se produit depuis sa création sur des petites et grandes scènes au Luxembourg et rend un hommage personnalisé aux formes les plus variées du blues.
